Mum gave me vintage lace and a mother-of-pearl antique belt buckle (you can't see it in this picture) as my something old. They looked exquisite with the bouquet! Cydney fromThe English Garden was fantastic to work with and I highly recommend her!
This was such a perfect setting for our wedding. We were surrounded by nature and I love that the reception area looks like a Japanese styled building...how appropriate! :)
I always wanted a bagpiper at my wedding to honor my Scottish heritageand pay respect to my Grandfather.
My Maid of Honor and best friend, Abby is holding this bouquet. She is as lovely as these flowers are!

It was so much fun picking out all of the components for the table setting and decorations.I can't even tell you how many coats of white paint those bird cages have on them!
Corey and I danced to "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train for our First Dance. We never expected to use a contemporary song since we are not really into today's music, but this song just struck a chord with both of us. We love how cheerful and happy it is. Since Corey plays ukulele, it seemed even more suited for us.
For over a year, Mum and I collected quite a variety of milk glass vases from thrift stores. It was nice to have a vintage element at the wedding. As you can see, the little bird that was in our invitations appeared again on the wedding day in the programs!
Corey played "The Theme of Love" from Final Fantasy IV since he proposed to meat the Final Fantasy orchestrated concert over two years ago.
He did such a beautiful job and I am very proud of him!!!
Here is one of the many votives Mum and I decoupaged with the Japanese paperused in the wedding invitations
Here is Corey dancing with his sister. I don't think I stopped dancing that night!Lots of oldies were played, but we snuck in orchestrated video game/anime music
to which the older guests were none the wiser!
Mum sewed a little "Corey hat" for the bird since he loves that hat dearly :)On the right is the cake stand that we used. If you haven't come to this realization yet,
you must know that my husband and I love birds!

On April 24, 2010
I married the love of my life.
I married the love of my life.
The entire celebration was surreal and absolutely perfect. Sometimes I pinch myself, look down at my wedding band, and smile because I realize that it did actually happen and it was as wonderful as I remember. While it was over before I knew it, I truly felt as if I was able to enjoy every second of that night and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life.
For the entire week before the wedding, they were expecting rain on our special day. This is perhaps the top fear for the insane bride who is having an outdoor ceremony. However, God smiled down upon us that day and kept the rain away until the bride was kissed and the ceremony had ended. Once inside and shielded from the rain, we danced like fools while it poured cats and dogs outside!
Mum was absolutely amazing throughout the planning process. We did not hire a wedding organizer or planner, so we took the entire shebang upon ourselves. Mum and I were on the same wavelength the whole time and I truly appreciated her help and creative insight. We combined an array of do-it-yourself details and it was such a treat to see all of the elements come together on the day of the wedding.
Daddy and I danced to "Edelweiss". We always knew that we would dance to this song on my wedding day. As a child, he used to sing it to me until I fell asleep each night. I chose the version from the movie where the father and daughter are singing together. I couldn't help but cry out of pure happiness while dancing with him. My daddy is a gentle, sweet man and he has always been there for me. In return, I will always be his little girl.
I also want to thank my little brother for being a part of the wedding party and for putting up with months of girly discussions over wedding details. The boys in the family are saints for that!
I feel so incredibly blessed to now be a part of another fantastic family. My in-laws are such kind and decent people who have always been very welcoming to me. I have honestly considered them as family for many years now. All I want to know is... what did I do to deserve a precious husband as well as amazing in-laws?!
It is both an odd and delightful experience being surrounded by all of your loved ones and cherished friends in one room at the same time. As I glanced around that night, each one of those faces looked happy for us, and that is the way it should be. If you were there, thank you for being a part of our special day. We love you!
There were many who made this wedding memorable, but I am most grateful to my dear husband/partner-in-crime/best friend. I thank God every day for blessing me with this man who has such a compassionate soul, a sweet disposition, and a knack for making others laugh. For those of you who are skeptical of true love, I am happy to tell you that it does indeed exist. You have no control over when you meet this person, but it is up to you to realize how special they are and to hold onto them like they are the most important thing in the world to you.
I did... and we lived happily ever after. :)
