It is an absolute honor to be included in Artful Blogging magazine alongside many artists that I truly admire. I teared up when I first opened the pages and saw my work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the whole staff. This is my first time being published and I am thrilled it is with such a beautifully designed publication.
When I was approached by Artful Blogging, I was asked to contribute some of my work and to write about a specific incident or anecdote that demonstrates how blogging fits into my life. It was difficult writing about myself, but it made me realize how much blogging has impacted my life and career.

ReplyDeleteI really can't name a favorite. There are way too many amazing blogs out there.
I read blogs because I love seeing how other people live. I love all of the ideas that I wouldn't be exposed to without blogging.
Favorite blog topic is a tie between my house and my dog.
I blog because it makes me happy. I love to write. I love to share. I love having a record of our life!

Why do I blog? I blog to make my work seen, even if no-one sees it. I blog to try and do something for others in a way that I enjoy and hopefully the viewer will enjoy. I blog to create an outlet for my creativity. I blog about my art to expunge my fear and anxiety of showing my art to others. Most importantly, I blog to give my craft a purpose, even if I can do nothing more than post it on a website or two in the hopes that I might spark an emotion in someone viewing it, or that they might share their own craft/ideas in return. One of my greatest fears as an artist is extended stagnation, and I nearly succumbed to it once before. But now I've been able to keep it alive thanks to my ever supportive friends, and I want to continue blogging for their sake, for mine, and for anyone who may happen upon my blog. More than anything, I blog to, hopefully, put a smile on viewers' faces.
